10 Months!

I know I say this each month but I really can't believe that our 4 pounder Halle is already 10 months old. She is getting so tall and is not really looking like an infant any more. We love her so much and are entertained by her each day. She is definitely into exploring at this age. She really wishes she could be walking and moving around quickly like some of her friends, but I think she will be there soon since she just started crawling today! Now that she sits really well, all she wants to do is stand so we spend a lot of time at the gate, her activity table and the coffee table. Cousin Kenzie gave us her Winnie the Pooh car and Halle loves to go for rides around the kitchen in it...I think she feels like she is moving this way and could spend all day in it! She still talks a lot but no real words yet besides the occasional, dada and mama. We both can't wait until she actually knows what those words mean when she says them but for now, we will just take what we can get! We love you so much Halle!

Trying to put the buttons from her dress in her mouth!

Halle at 10 Months:
  • Just started crawling for the first time today! And, she also learned how to sit up from either being on her back or her tummy...I wasn't watching but all of a sudden she was sitting!
  • Can wave "hi" and "bye" along with her clapping
  • Loves to stand (at the gate, at activity table, at coffee table and at the couches) and walk with help - you can tell she is proud of herself when she does this
  • Can pull up to standing while sitting on a pillow
  • Loves to go on rides in the Pooh car that she acquired from cousin Kenzie (thanks Kenzie!)
  • She still doesn't really care for books except to put them in her mouth
  • Can pick up foods with her hands and feed herself - puffs, cheese, pasta
  • Is becoming much more interested in our food and I have to do the "bait and switch" with puffs or string cheese in order to get her to eat some of her food
  • Can drink from sippy cups (those with and without handles) by herself
  • Favorite foods are dairy products - yogurt, string cheese and mac&cheese
  • Still only has two bottom teeth
  • Still drooling a ton
  • She has a ton of hair and it keeps growing each day
  • Doesn't show that much interest in the tv like she used to
  • Wears size 6-12 month clothes, size 3 diapers, size 2/3 shoes
  • Loves tags, buttons and anything else shiny including any necklace or earrings that I wear
  • Favorite toys - activity table, interactive puppy, Pooh car, all of the small toys seem to be liked just the same (she no longer prefers Sophie the Giraffe)
  • Favorite book - still Pat the Bunny Sleepy Bunny since it is the only cloth book she has and can put it in her mouth!L
  • Laughs when her daddy is holding her and I chase them, sometimes when she is tickled or when you blow on her neck
  • Took her first ride on a swing at the park and liked it - she also went on her first walk of the Spring in her stroller (without her carseat) and seemed to like looking around at everything
  • Likes to watch older kids and still likes to look out the windows
  • Is still going through separation anxiety
  • Just switched her to her bigger carseat
  • Went on another plane ride to AZ so she has now traveled 5 times: 1. Oregon in October, 2. Oregon in December, 3. Phoenix, AZ in January, 4. San Diego in February, 5. Tucson, AZ in April
  • Schedule: Goes to bed around 8 pm, wakes up around 8am, takes naps around 9 and 1 that are around 1-1.5 hrs
She loves her Daddy so much
"Look at how much hair I have! I can even wear it as a Mohawk!"
I don't like to stay in here very long but it's ok for just a bit!

Here are some videos (double click on them to see the whole view):

My first time crawling!!

Laughing in her swing

Her new borrowed toy - Mr. Lion (we thought it was funny that she didn't move her legs when the Lion went forward but still held on with both hands!)

Riding in the Pooh car - she could do this all day long! She no longer has the pillow in front of her...this video was taken when we first got the car.

Pulling up!

Halle can do lots of things. Obaa says, "I know how you feel when your upper body gets ahead of your feet."
