A Weekend with Daddy!!

After being gone for 8 days in the Bahamas with my family (pictures to come!), it was so nice that Brandon had his first weekend off this past weekend. He was on call the night we got home but then had half of Friday and both Saturday and Sunday off. This was the first time he has had a weekend off since he started so we tried to take advantage of it. We thought about going to Washington D.C. but since Halle and I were both pretty tired from traveling and we didn't have anything planned, we decided to just do things around here.

Brandon met us at Halle's My Gym class on Friday. I signed up Halle for this class while we are here so that she can get some interaction with other kids and it gives us something to do twice a week. Plus, she loves it! Here is a video of her playing "Red Rover".

On Saturday, even though it was pretty hot, we decided to venture to the zoo. It wasn't that crowded for a weekend (probably because it ended up being very hot!) so it was fun to see the animals without having to wait. Halle really liked the birds, oddly enough, but her favorite part of the zoo was getting to ride on her first carousel ride. She loved it!! We were all exhausted and hot after a couple of hours so we went home in the afternoon for naps. All three of us took a much needed nap! We then went to a pretty good Mexican restaurant for dinner.

Today, we went to our first Orioles game. It was a 1:30pm game so we weren't quite sure how Halle would do without getting a nap but she did okay (at least until we left!). It wasn't as hot as Saturday and our seats were covered which gave us shade, so it was perfect. Halle was entertained with a fan we brought, snacks, Curious George on her DVD player and a little kids play area. She actually sat pretty well for the first 4 innings and then her and I got up and ventured around the park (got her a cute "My first Orioles tee" shirt!). The Orioles beat the Oakland A's which surprised us since they lost the previous 2 games to them. We must have brought them good luck!

We were able to park in Brandon's work parking garage which made it easy to get in and out of downtown. It is a good thing too since Halle lost it on the way home. She then was a complete mess until we just decided to put her down for the night around 7 (she has been going to bed around 9/9:30). Hopefully, she gets a goodnight sleep tonight! It was worth it though to be able to spend that time with Brandon.

A cute video of Halle sharing Dad's milkshake from Sonic on Saturday night:

So happy that daddy finally got some time off to spend with you and Halle! Loved all the pictures, and it looks like you all had fun! Glad that you took a nap in-between events! I am sure that you all needed sleep!
Looking forward to your trip out here! ;) Love you all!

A hot day at the "old ball park." Halle shares Sonic. It is good that you had a nap to rest up for the next adventure.
