We had a great Memorial Day Weekend. On Friday night, we had some people over to roast marshmallows over our new fire pit. It wasn't very sunny but it was fairly warm with no wind which made it a perfect night. We ate a ton of smores and had fun visiting with friends. I do have to say that Steve was the best at roasting a perfect marshmallow!

On Saturday, we got some errands done and then went to Margo (one of Brandon's classmates) and Frank's wedding. They had a nice ceremony at a church and then their reception was at the Mayowood Stone Barn which was such a neat setting for a wedding. We had fun spending time with some of Brandon's classmates that are moving away this week.

The weather on Sunday was the best weather we have had since we got back from Bolivia. It was sunny, warm, not too much wind and no humidity. We took advantage by eating both lunch and dinner outside on our deck which we are very thankful for and we also went for a bike ride along the Douglas Trail which is right behind our house. We had never been on the trail before and really enjoyed it. That night, Brandon bought a speaker system for his tv and set it up. He has had time off so he has been working hard doing things around the house.

Dinner outside - we love our new grill and deck!
It was so nice to not have to work on Monday. I wish every Monday or Friday could be a holiday! I went to a baby shower in the morning for three girls that are in the bible study I go to, Rachel, Sari and Catherine. It was fun to see all of the girls since I wasn't able to make it to the last few studies while we were in Bolivia. Afterwards, Brandon and I worked some more on the house and then went to Cara's (third year med student) house for dinner. They had quite a few people over and made delicious healthy food for everyone - turkey burgers, grilled veggies and fruit and yummy oatmeal cookies. Overall, it was a great weekend. It has been raining the last couple of days which made it easier to go back to work but I am hoping the sun comes out again for the weekend.

Sari, Rachel and Catherine - they are all due in the next couple of months!

What fun to have a deck and a FIRE PIT!!! Sweeeeet! That is a good idea to make smores in your own backyard! I love it.
Great pics, Kristen!! I want to hear about your Bolivia Trip!! I may vacation for 2 weeks in South America in October and am also looking for medical "elective" opportunities abroad. Will you send me the name of your hospital??
Kristen, I think you two are the cutest couple! I think it's great you enjoy doing so many different things together:) Go you two!
The house, you, all the guests, and even the weather look great. We wish that we could come and sit around the fire pit with you.
Your bike ride looks like fun!
