Last weekend, Brandon had some time off from work so we went out to Charlotte, NC to visit Joy, Nick, Kenzie and Brynlee. They are there for a year while Nick does his fellowship there so it was a great opportunity to spend some time with them in a new place. They were so gracious to host us and it was so much fun to catch up with them and see the girls play. It was Kenzie's birthday just a few days before we arrived so we celebrated it with cake and some presents. Halle is still saying "Happy Birthday Kenzie" and is talking about Kenzie and Brynlee!
One day, Joy took us to a neat animal park called "Lazy 5 Ranch". You got to drive your car through this gated area where they let so many animals roam free. We bought some food so that we could feed the animals out the window. Halle sat in Brandon's lap while he drove and Kenzie sat with me in the passenger seat which ended up working perfect since Kenzie was more timid like me (I may have made her that way though after I screamed when an ostrich popped up at the window!) and Halle was practically hanging out the window. It was really neat to be so close to zebras, llama, buffalo, giraffes, goats, etc. We even got to feed the giraffes through their gate and Halle just loved it! On Saturday, we went out on a pontoon with Nick and Joy and family and Tom and Becky who also went to Mayo for residency and are there doing their fellowship as well. We were hoping for a warm day but it ended up being pretty chilly. But, that didn't stop us from having fun. I was so surprised at how well the girls did on the boat and they loved having lunch at a park and getting to stop at a little island to play in the sand. It was a fun day! Thanks Tom and Becky, and Nick and Joy!
The rest of the time was spent at parks and eating out. We got to have some delicious food that we don't have in Rochester so that was a treat (Mexican, Baskin Robbins, Chick-Fil-A, etc.). Thanks Nick and Joy for a great weekend!

Enjoyed all the pics and videos! Fun to see the cousins playing together! Looks like everyone had a GREAT time.
A wonderful opportunity for the families to get together and for Halle and Kenzie to enjoy more happy times.
