Blair - 2 Months

 

Happy 2 Months Blair! A lot has changed in the past month and I can't believe baby Blair is already 2 months old. Around the 7 week mark, she changed into a different baby. She is much less fussy now when she is awake and is napping better during the day. I feel bad that for the first 7 weeks or so she probably just didn't feel very well and was crying to let us know. Poor girl! Thankfully, she is doing much better. We love her little smiles that she seems to give more of each day. She is definitely happiest in the morning and right after she eats. I implemented, as Brandon would call it, Baby Boot Camp about a week ago and really started working on getting her to follow the eat, awake, sleep schedule. She had previously just been doing the eat and awake part! She is now napping much better and even falling asleep on her own instead of being held. We are still working on her falling asleep at night by herself but at least she is doing better during the day in her bouncer, swing and car seat with some white noise to help. She has had a couple of really long stretches at night but, unfortunately, they aren't very consistent. Though, overall, she is sleeping longer at night which makes for a happier Mama too! Halle continues to be very sweet to her little sister and Blair seems to enjoy watching whatever she is doing. Nana has been here helping out the past few weeks and her and Blair have developed a special bond...she gives more smiles to Nana than anyone else and Nana can calm her down and get her to sleep whenever! Thanks Nana!

At 2 Months Blair...

• Eats every 2-3 hours during the day and 3-7 hours at night (though the average is more like 4)
• Is sleeping longer stretches at night but unfortunately, when she wakes up, she has trouble falling back to sleep without being rocked 
• Usually naps in her bouncer or swing which she is really liking these days!
• Is very alert and strong - she lifts her head very well and also pushes up well with her legs
• Smiles a lot - her first smile was on January 3rd when she was 6 weeks old
• Had her first giggle while awake on January 23rd
• Has found her hands and holds them together and tries to find her mouth 
• Is much more content in the bath now that Brandon gives her a swaddle bath...it keeps her much more warm (we used to do this for Halle since she was so small) - still doesn't like getting out of the tub but who does?!
• Still has a little fussy period in the evening and likes to eat more frequently during this time as well, but last night she did much better
• Wears size 0-3 month clothes and size 1 diapers
• Weighs 10 lbs. 10 oz. (47%) and is 22 inches long (54%)
• Usually falls asleep now in the car as long as she has white noise to listen to
• Still LOVES the sound of running water which will almost always calm her down
• Is starting to really like the swing and will take good naps in it
• Still doesn't take a pacifier or a bottle though we have tried about 8 different kinds

Things we love about this stage:

• Her adorable smile
• How she looks around at everything, including Halle whenever she is close by!
• Her cute personality  

Daddy is such a good helper with the kids! I think Blair also looks a lot like him
