The restaurant is so popular and they don't take reservations, so a lot of people wait outside. However, it is pretty to walk along the pier and listen to the live music playing outside while you wait. The menu changes daily and is written on a chalkboard so you walk up to the chalkboard to decide what you are having. We were all really boring and ordered the same thing - a braised pork dish. It was very good and it was fun to spend time with Allison and Jared who live up in the Cities. We also got yummy desserts, a chocolate buttercream pie (the waitress described this dish as a pound of butter) and a bittersweet chocolate turtle cake. The buttercream pie did taste a lot like butter and to check it out, the boys ate plain butter to compare!
On Sunday afternoon, we went to Bekah and Jeff's to help celebrate Jeff's birthday. We were going to all play kickball but it was raining so we waited for the rain to stop and then played ultimate frisbee instead. Later, a bunch of people arrived for a bbq. It was fun to see some of Brandon's classmates that we don't get to see very often. There were also little kiddies there which was fun. They loved having Brandon toss them in the air and all lined up for it!
Brandon started his week of pediatric orthopedics and is liking this rotation as well. He definitely likes orthopedics and is glad that he has chosen that as his specialty. He will be doing a rotation in Utah the whole month of September, so if you would like to come visit me while he is gone, I would love visitors! Speaking of visitors, Brandon's sister, Joy, is coming to visit tomorrow through Sunday. We are very excited to have her come!
