Updates From the Week!

This week went by fairly quickly as do most weeks...it is really true that the older you get, the more time flies! Brandon is in the surgical icu for a rotation this month and has been getting up early to go into the hospital. However, he has been getting done by the early afternoon which is nice. We had two volleyball games with our co-ed team on Wednesday. Since one game was at 6pm and the other at 10pm we all went to TGIF's for dinner in between the games. We didn't play so hot either game but at least we could blame the second match on eating too much food! Tonight, we got together with David and Lesley. We met them at Applebees and then came back over to our place and played Rayman's Raving Rabbids on the Wii. We always have such a good time with them and we were glad that they were both not working so that we could hang out!

In other news, we found out a couple of weeks ago that we were accepted to go to Bolivia for a medical missons trip. I actually found the organization, Hospitals of Hope, through the web and it seems like it will be a good fit for us as our first mission trip. We were praying that we would be able to find somewhere to go since we had been planning to go to Nigeria but because it is on the National Watch List we are unable to go and God answered our prayers.

We will be at a hospital that the organization just built outside of the town of Cochabamba, Bolivia (in between La Paz and Santa Cruz). There is a guest house behind the hospital that we will stay in. We are not going with a group but there will be some other missionaries there at the same time. Brandon is hoping to help out in the hospital wherever needed and I am hoping that my Spanish comes back to me quickly enough to be able to interpret! We are both very much looking forward to this trip...we already got all of our vaccinations and bought our plane tickets last week! If you think of it, please start praying for the country and for the people we will come into contact that they might have an openness to the gospel. Here is the website for more info: Hospitals of Hope

Good for you guys! That is so wonderful that you will both be able to use your skills to help out the people of Bolivia. It is a wonderful feeling to be able to take what you know and help others, make their lives better. Dont worry, you will be amazed how quickly your language skills come back when you are immersed in it! It's like riding a bike. Good luck and enjoy your time there~that is, when you go!
