Our little Halle is just a month away from being a year old and I can't believe it. She is growing up before our very own eyes. This month she has really started acting more like a little toddler - she is crawling and is exploring everything. She can pull up to stand and loves to be walked around. She is very independent and has been like this from the beginning..she would rather fall asleep on her own than in our arms, is not much of a cuddler and likes to do things for herself (which we think is a great quality!). She has captured our hearts in a way that both of us would never have imagined and we love her so much! Happy 11 Months Halle!
She was in a good mood for her pics today - they are two days late since she wasn't feeling so great on her 11 month birthday
Dancing with the Duck!
Halle at 11 Months:
- Is crawling everywhere and can pull up to stand - she can stand alone for a few seconds
- Would love to be walking but is just starting to cruise
- Doesn't really like any baby food any more and wants to eat real food - she likes most things I have given her - beef stroganoff, string cheese, mac & cheese, mandarin oranges, hummus, bread, etc. and is better at picking foods up with her hands to feed herself
- Learned how to say "dog" when we went to Oregon and saw my parents dog - she also says dada and sometimes ma
- Has 4 teeth now - she got her top 2 this past month
- Had her first ear infection last week
- Still wears size 6-12 month clothes, size 3 diapers, size 2/3 shoes
- Weighs 17 lbs and 15 oz and is 29-30 inches long
- Wore pigtails for the first time and definitely cried while I put them in - hopefully she gets better with this!
- Loves anything that isn't one of her toys - cords, zippers, spoons, straws, etc.
- She doesn't seem to have a favorite toy right now since she would prefer to have anything that is not hers - it is amazing that when someone brings one of their toys over to our place, she knows that it is something new and will go for it
- Favorite books - Pat the Bunny and her Baby Bible - both of them are cloth books
- Loves to go on walks and to stop at the swing
- Really likes watching older kids
- Is getting better with her separation anxiety - she seems to prefer men which is something I didn't expect!
- Went on another plane ride so she has now traveled 6 times - this past time was definitely the hardest now that she is mobile (and I was by myself): 1. Oregon in October, 2. Oregon in December, 3. Phoenix, AZ in January, 4. San Diego in February, 5. Tucson, AZ in April, 6. Oregon in May
- Schedule: All thrown off right now since we just got back from OR and she has been sick with ear infections and a bad rash caused from the antibiotic!
For some reason she loves to hangout under her jumper - I think it is so cute!

We sure do miss you & Halle!! Enjoyed all the pictures & the dancing with the Duck video! She looked a little apprehensive at it? Do you think the duck scares her a little? I sure hope not...we want her to meet the Oregon Duck mascot sometime!! ;)
