Easter Weekend with Mema and Papa

This past weekend Brandon's parents, Mema and Papa, came out to visit. Halle absolutely loved having them here and they were such a huge help for Brandon and I. Isaac painted the outside doors for at least the second time since we have moved in and Lagaytha cleaned and watched Halle so that I could get some work done. It was so nice to have extra help and Halle really enjoyed all of the extra attention. Halle and Mema had tea together at least twice a day, got to play in her kitchen for hours, spent time outside on walks and at the park, and did Easter activities. We also went to Oxbow Park again to see all of the animals. Halle's favorite this time was the turkey, especially since she liked seeing Mema feed the turkey grass.

Having fun swinging at the park!

On Friday, we had the Camp's over to dye eggs and frost sugar cookies. Annabelle and Halle played with Mema while the rest of us got to work on all of the cookies. I think Christopher got the award for being the most creative! Brandon and his dad did all of the clean up which was so nice.

Testing the cookies!

On Saturday, we went to Grace Lutheran Church for an easter egg hunt. They had activities inside beforehand. Halle got to put stickers on a cross, give the Easter bunny a high five and got a balloon dog. We then went outside and she waited so patiently for the hunt to begin. She was anxious to pick some up while we were waiting but did a good job of listening to us. Once the hunt began, she just stood there for a little bit in awe of all of the kids...once she could tell what the kids were doing, she started to get the hang of it and ended up with 6 whole eggs in her basket! It wasn't until the end that she realized there was candy inside the eggs and ended up eating more chocolate than she ever has! It was a fun morning and it will be interesting to see how she does next year.

She wasn't sure of the bunny at first but then gave him a high five
