From April 16-21, we took our first family vacation as 4 to Amelia Island, Florida. Brandon was presenting a poster at the annual Mid America Orthopedic conference so we tagged along to get out of the freezing cold weather in Rochester! We split a villa with Erica and Chris and family at the Omni Amelia Island plantation. We didn't do much since we had two infants and two toddlers, but it was still just nice to be in warmer weather.
Poor Halle woke up with a terrible cold the morning of the day we were leaving but was such a trooper traveling. She was so excited to go on the airplane and we really didn't have to do much with her at all. She basically entertained herself with watching shows/games on the iPad and playing with Annabelle. Blair, on the other hand, had a tough time traveling since she can't fall asleep in our arms and with other people around. We got in around 2am which was not the best start to the vacation because everyone was sleep deprived! (not sure I would ever plan to travel late at night again but oh well!) We tried having Halle skip her nap since if she had been napping we wouldn't have been able to do much with the Dad's but she was so tired that she would fall asleep each day on the way to dinner and then be a complete mess! Guess we learned our lesson on that one too! Blair was really messed up with traveling and not being able to nap in a swing like she does at home so she was also pretty fussy this trip. Ok, enough complaining...it was awesome to be at a beautiful resort with some warmer weather!
We played at the pool, went on walks, Brandon played with Halle at the beach, Brandon golfed twice and I got a massage so it was a pretty good trip. I think I had really high expectations of being able to lounge at the pool with the kids so when it didn't quite work like that (what was I thinking?!?) I got a little down, but it was still so nice to get out of Rochester for a few days.

It looks as though you had a great place. It was good to get out of the cold and enjoy some warm weather.
