Blair - 6 Months!

Happy 6 Months Baby Blair! You are such a smiley baby and are so much fun to be around. Your favorite thing to do is to watch your big sister wherever she is and it has been so neat to see how you are starting to interact with her. Halle can make you smile whenever and the moments that you have had playing together have just melted my heart. It is a little preview of what is to come and I can imagine that you will be best of friends! You are becoming so aware of everything around you. You have started to grab at anything in reach which means that we now have to watch out while we are holding you at the dinner table. You also study faces in detail but so far you haven't had any stranger anxiety and will normally go to anyone. We love you so much Blair!

At 6 Months Blair...

• Weighs 15 lbs (25%) and is 26.25 inches long (58%)
• Grabs at anything and everything she can get her hands onto but does not normally put things in her mouth (including a bottle and pacifier!)
• Takes 2-3 naps a day in either her car seat or swing...is not on a consistent schedule yet but will normally be tired about 2 hrs after she has eaten
• Is a pretty content baby and only fusses when she is tired
• Wears size 3-6 mo clothes and size 3 diapers
• Has found her feet and loves to hold them anytime she is laying on her back
• We think she is teething since she has been a little more fussy the past few weeks and gnaws on her thumb and fingers - tries to put her whole hand in her mouth
• Doesn't drool a ton like Halle did
• Can roll from her tummy to her back but yet from her back to her tummy (though I think she could but she just doesn't like to be on her tummy!)
• Puts her feet flat on the ground and raises her bottom (like a gymnastic bridge!) to scoot up and down
• Tries to sit by herself but is not quite ready - will still topple over or push herself backwards
• Smiles and giggles more at Brandon and I
• Is usually eating vegetables at dinner time though she has had a hard time digesting them so we are taking things slow - she seems to really like it though! Has had green beans, carrots, prunes, sweet potatoes, squash and peas (she doesn't seem to like the prunes which she needs the most!)
• We cried it out with her right around 6 months old to get rid of her 1-3 am feeding and it took us about 4 nights...she still is not sleeping 11-12 hours like Halle did but she is getting much better! Usually goes to bed around 8-8:30 and sleeps until 4-6 and then will go back to sleep
• Eats every 2.5-3.5 hours during the day 
• Loves standing and looking around at things especially the tv and our phones - she always tries to grab our phones when we are looking at them
• Loves playing with toys
• Wears size 2 diapers and is in 3-6 month clothing
• Her eyes still seem to be blue but are getting a little darker

Things we love about this stage:

• How much she smiles 
• Her little laugh
• How she loves to look at Halle
