As you can tell from the picture above our little girl is starting to look more like a toddler than a baby. She is starting to act like it too! She seems to be learning something new each day and I think she understands a ton more than we think she does. She has us wrapped around her little finger...she is so cute and her little personality is really starting to come out. She makes us laugh all of the time - just yesterday, she spent a long time putting her coat over her head and then walking around with it like that and when it fell off, she would do it again! We love her so much!!
At 14 Months:
- Is WALKING!! - she still sometimes crawls when she really needs to but for the most part she is getting much better at walking
- Can push up to standing without holding on to anything
- Has 4 teeth on top and is getting 2 more on the bottom to make 4 on the bottom too
- Can say: Dada, Mama (for me, milk and more!), Yes, Ball, Baby, Go, Dog (always squeals when she says it too!) - we think that, ironically enough, "dog" was her first word even though we don't have a dog!
- Loves dogs and anytime we see one she gets so excited - I bought her a stuffed dog and she loves it!
- Signs more, milk, please and is starting to either blow kisses or say "thank you"
- Picks up toys and anything else she like and puts them in her stroller
- Knows how to hug baby and her stuffed dog
- Loves to sit herself in the bumbo or any other chair for that matter (I got out her old infant car seat today and she loved playing in it!)
- Loves to push her own stroller or anything else that we push her in (or just other toys)
- Loves holding on to the steering wheel of the car (thanks Papa D!) and according to Papa, we need to watch out for this since she knows how to shift the car too!
- Wears size 6-12 month clothes, just moved up to size 4 diapers and they are huge on her, and I thought she was a size 3 for shoes but got her measured and she is a 4 but has really narrow feet - I think she weighs around 20 lbs.
- Combs her own hair with her brush and knows that her bows go on her head
- Likes to put all of her toys over her head and then drop them
- Is becoming fairly picky with regards to food - she could eat fruit all day long but veggies and protein are hard to get her to eat
- Loves being outside and will stand at our gate inside and say "go" while pointing to the door & will sometimes bring me her shoes - I'm not sure how that will work during the winter. Right now it is nice to run errands and take walks but that is going to change in a couple of months...
- Favorite toy right now - her little stroller that she can push, Favorite book - "That's not my princess" (Thanks Cassi!)
- Likes to swing and play at the playground...she likes to climb up the steps
- Favorite thing about swimming are the metal poles that you use to get in and out of the pool - she could play with those forever! She is starting to like the water a lot more though which I'm really happy about.
- Still doesn't like the church nursery so I have started volunteering in there to help her adjust to the room
- Still taking two 1-1.5 hour naps a day - usually goes to be around 7:30-8:30 and wakes up around 7-8am
- Was completely weaned at 13 months and now just has whole milk out of a cup with a straw
Halle is walking!!
Showing her little personality - don't be fooled by those dimples?!?
So proud of walking!!
Reading her book while sitting in the bumbo - she hasn't figured how to pull the other leg through so she always sits like this!
She loves playing "tea"!
Did I mention she loves being outside?!?
Loves pushing her stroller around (thanks for the cute outfit Ruth & Dale!)
Walking around with her coat on her head - she is so funny!

She is doing so great! What a happy little girl!
great updates, kristen!
She is beautiful and entertaining. It will not be long before she can open the door.
Happy 14 months, Halle! :)
It's funny, I could literally just copy/paste your list of new things Halle is doing and plug it in for Margo! They are so similar! We miss y'all!
