Fall Events

I am once again behind on blogging so I'm going to try and catch up with a longer post tonight. We have had a wonderful fall so far and with the weather being in the upper 70's/lower 80's this week, I hope it stays like this for awhile. A couple of weeks ago, we went to an Ortho Fall Festival at one of the physician's house who Brandon works with. They hold this event each year for the whole department which is so nice of them. They always have a clay shooting competition, activities for kids and catered food. Brandon and David were partners in the competition and though they lost, they had a good time. Halle had fun swinging and playing on their little play gyms...she was so tired when we got home that she laid down on her blanket as soon as we got home!

Last Saturday, we had another Ortho event...the Fall Ortho Families bbq. It was out at Oxbow park in Byron. It was pretty chilly that night but we had a good time around the fire pit roasting marshmallows.

We had such a good time roasting marshmallows that another night last week we got together with Erica and Chris and did it again. The fire was awesome and it kept us all really warm plus the smores were really good too! Annabelle and Halle also enjoyed it until Halle almost put her hand in the fire...we learned our lesson quick not to let her down near the fire. She has no fear of anything!

The weather this past weekend was great and since Brandon had most of the day off, we headed to Apple Ridge Orchard when Halle decided she didn't want to take an afternoon nap. We all took a wagon ride out to pick apples. We tasted a "Sweet 16" apple right away and let Halle try it too...we had no idea that she would hold on to it and eat it the entire time we were there! We had fun picking Honeycrisp and Sweet 16 apples. We tasted some other ones but those we our favorite. We also showed Halle some pumpkins but she continued munching on her apple. We finally had to put a bib on her since it was juicy and making a mess. We also showed her some of the animals at the orchard. Of course, she didn't show much interest until we saw the little puppies that they had out there!

And, funny story...I went to have one of our apples the next day and couldn't find them anywhere. So, we spent all that time picking and tasting and forgot the paid for apples at the orchard...oh well! We had a good time!

A pumpkin Halle's size!

The crisp air, apples, and pumpkins. Happy girl and parents with marshmallows and s'mores. Sounds good to us.
