Happy 8 Months Blair! I never thought I would say it but you are finally napping in your crib...yay! You really didn't have a choice since we moved down to Jacksonville and didn't bring the swing with us but you have done such a great job transitioning. You also learned to roll over from your back to your stomach and are now sleeping on your tummy. This months also brings the introduction of you being a picky eater as we have been giving you more and more foods. But, with all of these changes, you are still such a smiley, happy girl who loves being around people! We love you so much Blair!
Blair at 8 Months:
- Waves her arms and kicks her feet when she gets excited - mostly when she is watching Halle!
- Has become a picky eater and I sometimes have to trick her with puffs to get her to eat baby food - the only foods that I don't have to trick her with are oatmeal with banana and peas - is also very interested in what we are eating
- Still doesn't have any teeth but since I've seen her fingers in her mouth recently (which she never does) and is drooling more, I think she is teething
- Still has blue eyes and her skin is probably the darkest of all of us - she tans really easily!
- Wears size 3 diapers, 6-9 or 6-12 month clothes and sleepers but also fits into some 3-6 month onesies
- Has really small feet and I've never put shoes on her so I have no idea what size she would be!
- Is sitting pretty well but still topples over from time to time
- Usually sleeps on her tummy
- Makes the funniest noises include grunts and high pitch squeals
- Is still not consistent with her night time sleeping but usually goes to bed around 7:30-8:30pm and wakes up anywhere between 5-6:45am... and sometimes will go back to sleep but not guaranteed
- Usually naps a couple of hours after she wakes up and then again in the afternoon around 2pm... I try to just let her get a long enough nap in the morning so that she's not a grump and can make it until the afternoon to take a longer nap while Halle is napping
- She is nursing about 5 times a day and eating solids 2-3 times a day (mostly breakfast and dinner and sometimes lunch)
- Rotates on her tummy and rolls over but since she still doesn't love being on her tummy I don't think she's close to crawling at all
- Touched sand for the first time and seemed to like it
- Doesn't really like being in her pool floaty but loves splashing in the pool while being held
- Finally rolled over from back to tummy
- Looks for Halle and thinks she's a big girl when she watched her and Annabelle play!
- Will smile or laugh when you whistle
- Loves having toys in both hands to bang them together to make noise
- Smiles when any toy honks or squeaks - loves anything that makes noise!
- Her favorite toys are her yellow rattle ball and a toy cell phone that makes noise - oh, she still loves holding her feet too!
- Switches things from hand to hand when getting dressed
- Doesn't put things in her mouth by herself
- Loves eating Baby Mum Mums and is starting to really like puffs though I have to feed both to her
- Blows raspberries which I think she thinks is funny when she is eating and makes a mess!
- Likes watching things on tv and will even smile at some parts in Baby Einstein
- Has started saying "ma" but I don't think it relates to anything in particular
- We call her "grabby hands" since she grabs at anything and everything
First time in highchair in Atlanta, GA!
First time in shopping cart - she toppled over a lot!
First time at the beach
