My Birthday!

Yesterday, I had a wonderful birthday. The weather was perfect, it was fun to see friends, and it was so nice to be able to talk to family and friends back at home. I volunteered in the morning at the Mayo Welcoming brunch which is for incoming resident and medical student spouses (however, none of the medical students are here yet!). Cassi is on the planning committee for the brunch and since she is in Arizona right now for a rotation, I stood in for her and helped the Special Interest Groups set up their tables. Cassi had made cute signs and sign up sheets for all of the groups that everyone loved and she made my job easy! It was fun to be out in the morning since the weather was beautiful and I got to have a wonderful brunch and was able to meet some of the resident wives...one person was from Portland, OR!

I walked back afterwards and stopped at Barnes and Nobles to pick up Harry Potter and got back to the apartment at 12:30 or so. Brandon spent the night before until 1:30 am in the ER for psychiatry and also had to work yesterday, and he got back at 1:30 pm. We had a late picnic lunch and just enjoyed the afternoon together in a park. After running some errands, we had a lovely dinner at Michael's (thank you Isaac & Lagaytha!). After dinner, we had some friends come over for games and dessert. The cake that Brandon got me from Cold Stone was amazing! We all had a great time and we have been truly blessed with so many friends here in Rochester. Thank you everyone for the birthday wishes!

Our waitress told us that we were matching and that we even blended in to the pictures on the wall!The awesome mint chocolate ice cream cake!We didn't have candles so Brandon was creative and used toothpicks!
