The weather in Rochester kind of went from the long winter coldness to thunderstorms with only a few nice days in between. Here is a picture of the large hail we got last week. I went to leave work and it was pouring out and started to hail. When I called Brandon who was at home downtown, it wasn't even raining there...that is just crazy to me that it can be fine in one place that is less than 10 minutes away! However, by the time I got off the phone with him, it had started raining there too. A couple of hours later it then looked like it hadn't rained at all... I am still not used to this weather!

This past weekend we had some more rain and thunderstorms, but on Sunday, it was a perfect day. We had decided on Saturday to take advantage of it, so we went to church on Sat. night so that we could drive down to Lanesboro to go bike riding on Sunday. I needed to do a long bike ride for my triathlon training and Brandon was so sweet to come with me. We rode from the little town of Whalan to Peterson and back which was 19 miles. It was a lot of fun to enjoy the weather together and also get a workout at the same time. We actually ran into Jeff and Bekah in Lanesboro that day which was random so we ate dinner together at the little restaurant there that is on the river. It was so nice to sit outside and eat and we had a huge brownie dessert to top the day off!

The tiny town of Peterson

An old gas pump in Peterson - look at the price of gas - $.185 per gallon!

An old train car that carried the workers who labored on the tracks

Brandon wanted a picture in front of this sign!

The Root River along the bike path

The HUGE brownie dessert after a day of biking...yummy!

kristen,
i just LOVE that trail. maybe sometime when our boys are on call, we can take our bikes down there!
Are you sure that 19 miles is enough for that brownie dessert? The rail car is like the one that Ojii's dad rode as he worked (his did not have the top, however). We hope that your car does not get damaged by the big hail. Brandon, remember Eastland, Texas?
