Pre-Christmas Activities

Even though Halle is a little young to start some Christmas traditions, I wanted to do it anyways, so we tried to do a lot of activities before Christmas. We decorated sugar cookies with friends, we went caroling at a local nursing home, we gave Christmas presents to friends, filled a box for Operation Christmas Child, sponsored a child in Paraguay, did something each day off or our Christmas advent chain, and baked a ton (and ate too!!). I would really like to continue with most of these traditions, especially filling a box for Operation Christmas Child for a child that is the same age as her and caroling. I think it teaches a lot to kids when they pick out presents they like but then give them to someone else. Also, Halle really seemed to like the singing when we went caroling and you could tell that the people at the nursing home enjoyed it. Thanks for organizing that Rachel and Hans!

All dressed up for church the Sunday before Christmas - thanks for the outfit Nana and Papa!

Special traditions taught at a tender age will stay with her and mean more and more. Nice looking group of carolers.
