Pumpkin Carving

Our pumpkin that Brandon carved - a spooky spider!Katy and Steve's pumpkinNick and Cassi's pumpkin - a haunted castle

Last night, we carved pumpkins over at Nick and Cassi's house along with Steve and Katy. Cassi made her delicious sugar cookies and Katy also made a delicious bread. I brought over a salad called "snicker salad". I thought it was good, but I do think it should be called a dessert rather than a salad. I got the recipe from someone in my office that has a catering business. She makes this salad for Thanksgiving and she does call it a salad even though the only ingredients are snickers, apples and cool whip! I have to admit that I didn't touch the pumpkin at all this year - Brandon did all of it and he did a great job carving the spooky spider! I did however, help Cassi make pumpkin seeds. We all carved our pumpkins and then watched "The Break Up" with Jennifer Aniston and Vince Vaughn. The movie was all right, but I didn't like the ending...

We have had a great Sat. so far...we got to sleep in, we made breakfast together, then we cleaned the whole apartment and right now we are watching the Oregon State vs. USC football game on our couches...we are so excited that we actually get a PAC-10 game on our TV. We usually have to go to Buffalo Wild Wings to watch the games. OSU is up 7-0 right now and hopefully, they will be able to pull off an upset. One of Brandon's classmates, Sujit, who went to USC is coming over to watch the game with us. I hope everyone has a great weekend! Remember to set your clocks back tonight...

All of the pumpkins look appropriately spooky. Brandon you must have had a skinny knife. How did the friend from USC like the nail-biter game? Cool Whip, snickers, and apples. How did the apples sneak in there?

What great pumpkins. Looks like a bunch of surgeons were practicing their skills.
