Lake City

It was so nice out yesterday so Brandon and I decided to drive to Lake City to go geocaching. We left at about 3:40 and got to Lake City around 4:20 pm. We went to a park called "Hok-si-la Park" that was overlooking Lake Pepin. It was beautiful out and it was so relaxing to sit and listen to the water. Lake Pepin is actually part of the Mississippi River and the other side of the lake is Wisconsin. Lake City is also the birthplace of waterskiing. We tried to find one of the cache's that was supposed to be near the chapel down below. However, we could not find it. It was fun to see the outside chapel though. After spending some time looking at the lake, we went to another site along the lake to try to find another cache and once again, we had no luck...Oh well, it gives us another excuse to come back! There is actually a little beach at the park and I would like to have a picnic there during the summer...it's too cold now. It was 60 some degrees today and tomorrow the high is supposed to be 30 some with winds close to 30-40 mph! How does it change 30 degrees in one day? That's Minnesota for you folks! The outside chapel that was so cute - I think it would be perfect for a small outdoor wedding!
Lake Pepin and the little beach that I want to visit in the summerBrandon trying out the playground toys!
Looking for the cache...no luck!

Hi Kristen! Thanks for updating your blog so I can see what you guys are up to even though we haven't seen you in months! :) You are so good at posting pictures (those are always fun). Much better than I am - we only took one picture the entire month we were in Madison. :) Anyway, hope to see you guys soon!

They say that the search is half the fun. Some days it has to be all of it. It is good that you had a nice day before the REAL cold comes along.
