On Tuesday of this past week, Justin, a third year medical student, invited some of the second year students over for dinner. He wanted to give them a break from studying for the boards, which was so thoughtful. He made an excellent chicken apply curry dish and then topped it off with an awesome dessert - lava cakes! Here is Brandon with one of the yummy lava cakes. Thanks Justin for the meal!
This past Sunday, I coached volleyball in a tournament up in the Cities. It was held at a nice volleyball warehouse, but with the way the schedule was, it ended up being a long day. We had a three hour break in the middle of the day, played one last game, lost and then had to ref. Oh well! It was fun to coach the girls and I plan to go and watch them play during their season in St. Charles. Afterwards, I was able to have dinner with Allison at Buca's Italian restaurant. I felt so bad for being late, but she is so sweet and waited 30 minutes for me. We had a delicious meal - lemon chicken and it was so fun to see her.

On Monday, I had originally planned to drive back up to the Cities to get my hair cut and then quickly drive back down to make it to our softball games. However, on the ride back from the Cities on Sunday and given the high cost of gas, I decided that it probably wasn't worth it. I cancelled my appointment and ended up making one for Tuesday with a lady that does hair out of her home. Thanks Cassi for the recommendation! She was very sweet and her husband is a first year orthopedic resident here at Mayo. She is much less expensive than what I have been paying and she did a good job...I am just trying to get used to it since it is pretty short.
