Dessert & Bunkoween

This past Friday, Erica and Christopher invited us over for dinner. I offered to bring a dessert and was excited to try to make Red Robin's Mud Pie. I love this dessert and have tried to make it one time before, but I didn't allow enough time and it didn't turn out so well. So, I started making the dessert on Tuesday as it required a lot of steps with hours of freezing in between the steps. I had a couple of problems...one with spreading the room temperature fudge over chocolate ice cream and the other one with getting the frozen ice cream out of the bowl. But besides that, it turned out much better this time and as always, it tastes great. The only thing wrong with it is that it makes too much so I have been having it for dessert when I have been trying to cut back on sweets...oh well! Here is a picture of one of the slices:

This past Monday, we started our bunko group over again for the year. Cassi hosted this month's "Bunkoween" and did such a good job with all of the decorations. She is so creative and has been making a ton of things for her vinyl business. She made us cups with all of our names on them. She also make so many cute desserts...spider cupcakes, goblin goo (bean dip), mummy sticks and yummy ice cream sandwiches. We all had a great time and even though I secretly wanted one of her neat vinyl prizes, I was lucky that I won the drawn prize. Everyone says that bunko takes no skill, but since I have never won a real prize and manage to lose each time...I think that is skill!

Brandon is at a movie tonight with the boys and I decided to stay home and relax. Plus, I wasn't very interested in seeing "We Own the Night" with a bunch of boys! We are going to go to Apple Ridge Orchard tomorrow to get some pumpkins and apples. I am excited about that as they also have good caramel apples out there! Tomorrow night we are going to a Halloween costume party...if anyone has ideas as to what we can dress up as, that would be greatly appreciated!
Cassi's yummy treats
I ate 3 of these ice cream sandwiches since they were so good!

Krista, Cassi, Jeni and MeCassi with her creative prizesKaty won such a neat prize that Cassi is going to start selling - she makes 12 tiles with different sayings out of vinyl that you can put in a frame

Yummy desserts all around. Those vinyl creations are fantastic. You can put your prize to good use after your trip to the farm.

Hey Kristen, I am trying to read Cassi and Deola's blogs (which I always access from your page) but now I can't get to them. Says they are closed? Do you know how I could contact them? Or could I be invited!? I miss catching up on their lives!!
