This past Tuesday through Sunday, we were in Seattle with both of our families. Brandon presented his research on wrists at the American Society for Surgery of the Hand (ASSH) meeting so we took advantage of the location and made it a little vacation. He did a great job presenting to the fellows and residents and even though everyone was only slotted 5 minutes for their presentations, Brandon did a great job covering all of his information. The annual ASSH meeting was held at the Seattle convention center and it was a huge meeting. There were many doctors from Mayo at the meeting, however, we only saw 2 of them while we were there. After his presentation on Wednesday morning, we walked around downtown Seattle with our parents and then had lunch at PF Chang's (my favorite restaurant!). It was so much fun to see our parents and to be able to spend time with them. Brandon went back to the conference for the afternoon to listed to some of the presentations and we continued to shop while we waited for him...that was fine with me!!
That evening we walked around Lake Union which was across the street from our hotel. It was a beautiful night and it was fun to see the expensive boats that I secretly wished were mine! I have a picture down below of the one that Brandon bought me to go with the house on the lake in Minnesota!! I tried to be creative and take a picture of the boys pretending to hold up the Space Needle, but that didn't work out so well...Brandon tried to beat my attempt by taking a picture of me holding it! I also love the picture down below of everyone smiling except for my mom who is pointing to the sea plane that was landing behind us with her hair blowing in her face....it is pretty funny if you zoom in and look at everyone left to right! It was my mom's birthday that night and Brandon's parents brought her a cake so we celebrated after eating the free dinner that the hotel offers once a week.

Such good pictures--it looks like you had a great time! I especially love the one of your mom looking away! Very cute!
It is nice to see Barb's beautiful face with the cake. Kristen, why were you able to hold the space needle; whereas it took three men to do the job? Nice boat to go with the nice house. Brandon, we are so pleased that you were able to make the presentation.
What a fun vacation! I like your creative pictures of the Space Needle!
