Saturday Night Dinner & Update from the Week

Sorry it has taken me so long to post anything on here. We have obviously had a busy week! Brandon has been busy with being a teaching assistant for Anatomy and has been using his other time to tutor first year students in Anatomy or to do his research. I don't think we have even eaten dinner together once this week since so many of the students have been wanting him to tutor them! He does get paid though and Anatomy is over next week so that will be nice (at least for me!). I have been keeping busy at work and have been trying to keep up going to the gym as well. Last night I went to my first cycling class ever. Since the instructor was over 200 lbs. I assumed that it wouldn't be that tough of a workout...boy was I wrong! It was probably one of the best workouts I have had in awhile...teaches me not to assume! And since there were only 8 people in the class, I couldn't slack or everyone would notice! After standing up cycling for a whole song and doing intervals where you increase the tension after each 30 sec. I felt like my legs were just going to give out on me. I ended up making it through the whole 55 min. and believe it or not, I am not sore today!

I just got back from playing bunko with some ladies from my office and their friends. I am a substitute for this group and also played with them last month. I brought fudge that I made last night and they all loved it! I had a lot of fun and it is nice to get to know the people I work with outside of work.

Ok, now to last weekend. Brandon and I were invited over to Dr. L's , the new Anatomy professor's, house for dinner. She just moved to MN from South Africa. She has the neatest accent and is so sweet. Brandon and I helped her put some of her furniture together a couple of weeks ago and she had mentioned that she wanted to have us over for dinner, especially since I helped her build her table! She also invited Steve and Katy, and Tony, who are the other teaching assistants for Anatomy. She is Indian and made an awesome chicken curry dish. I don't really like spicy things but she used mild spices and it was very good. We all enjoyed it! Katy made a very nice salad and I tried a new recipe for apple crisp. After dinner, we taught Dr. L how to play mexican dominoes and we had a great time. As you can see below, when we were done playing we wanted to do what most kids want to do with dominoes...knock them down!

Kristen,
I would LOVE to go to a spinning class with you sometime! Especially next year when I'm living in Roch.

I have done a few, but they are always more fun (and I'm more likely to go) if I plan to meet someone there!

We would think that you are in great shape for cycling. Brandon can use some extra time. Tasty food.
