Brandon's parents, Papa and Mema, came to visit us in Jacksonville Sept. 17-24th. We spent the first few days in Jacksonville and then headed to Disney World for a long weekend. It was still pretty hot while they were there but we saw everything that we wanted to see and had so much fun! When we first arrived on Thursday night, we headed to Downtown Disney and ate dinner at Bongos. Since we had season passes, after putting the kids to bed that night, Brandon and I headed to Magic Kingdom by ourselves. We only had time for a few rides but it was fun to be able to do whatever we wanted...Brandon convinced me to go on Splash Mountain (yes, I know I am a wimp!) and I made him get ice cream with me while we were leaving!
On Friday, we went to Magic Kingdom. When we first arrived, it was the least busy that we had seen the park and we were able to do almost whatever we wanted. We hit up the kids favorites first - Small World, Tea Cups, Dumbo, etc. and then ate lunch at Belle's castle. The kids were troopers and took afternoon naps in the stroller so that we could stay through dinner. After waking up, Halle danced the whole time while watching a Mickey show in front of Cinderella's castle...it was so cute!
On Saturday, we went to the Animal Kingdom. We saw the Lion King show and Finding Nemo shows again and the girls LOVED the music in the Lion King show. We also went on the safari and a few of the rides...I was thankful that Mema went on the roller coaster with Brandon! That afternoon, we went to the water park at the hotel we stayed at. Halle really enjoyed playing with Brandon in the splash area. It was a good break from the parks! That night, Brandon and I went back to Magic Kingdom again and did a few more rides...I've never liked any of the roller coasters but for some reason I didn't mind Big Thunder Mountain so we went on that like 3 times in a row right before closing! We also went on the Astro Orbiter which is a ride neither of us had been on before. We couldn't figure out why the two guys in front of us bailed at the last second until we got up there and realized that there is basically just one seat in the spaceship!
On Sunday, we headed back to Magic Kingdom to do a few more things but it was more crowded and very hot! We were finally able to listen to Belle's Story Time which turned out to be really neat, and we also went on the Goofy Roller Coaster which Halle ended up really liking. We did a few other of the kids' favorite rides and then headed out in the afternoon right when it started to pour!
Thanks for all of the help while you came, for watching the kids and for a great trip to Disney, Papa and Mema!
