This week is Rochesterfest in Rochester. There are food stands set up downtown in a blocked off street like at a fair and there are all sorts of fried foods. There are also events that go along with Rochesterfest, like hot air balloon races, lumberjack competitions, concerts, water ski show, etc. Since, the food stands are set up less than 2 blocks from our house, Brandon and I ate dinner there on Tuesday. We met up with some of his classmates and all enjoyed our fried food. I had yummy fish and chips and Brandon actually had Mexican food followed by chocolate cheesecake on a stick. I went with people from work to Rochesterfest again the next day for lunch and had fried cheese curds and corn on the cob. The place is much more packed during the lunch hour since it is only a couple of blocks away from Mayo. I think we may go and see the water ski show that is taking place on Sat.
We have been having really weird weather lately. It has been pretty hot and muggy which is perfect thunderstorm weather. Last night it was really stormy and our little weather alarm, which warns us of thunderstorm and tornado warnings, went off like 6 times throughout the night. Brandon got up each time to turn it off...poor guy! Then, this afternoon there was a thunderstorm warning and even the city tornado alarm sounded. Brandon went out to move the car since we were going to get hail, but we actually just got a ton of rain and thunder and lightning. I think I am getting a little more used to the storms since I sleep through them now, but I still do not enjoy them. Last night when I looked outside the sky was orange which was very creepy...

Tonight I went with Allison and her mom to the person's house who is going to do her wedding flowers. He works for Mayo doing the decorating and flowers for big events there and he was having an evening to show ladies from their church how to make flower bouquets. We learned some interesting things and I was amazed at how talented he was not just with flowers, but with decorating in general. He paints, refurbishes, decorates, etc. It would be really neat to see how he does table decorations. Hopefully, I can learn a lot from him to help me with wedding planning.
Afterwards, we went to Allison's house and I showed her and her mom the wedding checklist that I made for her. She calls me her "wedding planner" but that is just to be nice. She is so good at planning and has everything under control. The wedding is not for a year and she has so many things done. She is also very creative so I am excited to see what she comes up with. I have been helping a girl at my work to plan her wedding and I really enjoy doing it. I am just thankful that I am getting to help out with some to gain experience.

Ah, Rochesterfest. I did like that! :) Hey-- if I ever get married, can you be my wedding planner? :)
Fried chocolate cheesecake on a stick. Who could ask for anything more?
