Yay for Kyle!

Anyone that knows my brother Kyle, knows that he absolutely loves computers, especially Macs. He has been on them since he was 2 years old and it is all he will talk about it. He is now a 7th grader and takes computer programming classes at our local community college with people three times his age. He does very well and is very smart when it comes to computers. Anyways, last year when he was down in San Francisco visiting my sister with my parents, he wanted to attend the Annual World Wide Developers Conference that Apple puts on. My parents tried to get him in, but you have to be 18 years or older to attend.

So, this year Kyle had it in his mind that he would be able to get in even though he was only 14. He wanted my parents to drive down there just to see if he could get in and they wouldn't do it. He was pretty bummed but did not give up. He called Apple every week or so and tried to ask people if he could attend. They kept saying "no", so last week he called and asked if he could speak to Steve Jobs. They said the only way to get into contact with him was to fax or email him and he probably would not hear a response before 10 days (which would have been too late since the conference started on June 11th). He got off the phone, wrote a 2 page letter about himself and why he wanted to go and faxed it to Steve Jobs with no help from my parents. A couple of days later, he got a phone call from someone at Apple saying that he could attend the keynote address by Steve Jobs on Monday, June 11th and that he was given two VIP passes to see the event! Crazy huh?

My parents and Kyle are down is San Francisco right now and they absolutely loved the keynote address by Steve Jobs. They all sat six rows from the stage in the very center and said that it was very inspiring to listen to him speak.
