Rochesterfest

Looking full after eating so much food!

There was a line the size of lines at Disneyland for this little train! (Guess there is nothing else to do in Rochester!)

People enjoying the nice weather at Rochesterfest

A funnel cake sundae!

Total fat content: 5,000 kg of fat

These were very popular!

Pretending to eat a jumbo turkey leg that everyone else was eating!
-----------------------------------

This week is Rochesterfest in Downtown Rochester. It is basically like the Scandinavian festival (http://www.rochesterfest.com/). There is just a whole lot of booths selling food and some little activities for kids. Since we can see it from our apartment and it is only 2 blocks away, we walked down to see what type of food there was last night and decided to eat there tonight. It was a beautiful day here in Rochester and there were a lot of people enjoying the weather after work. It took us awhile to decide what to eat since there were so many options to choose from - deep fried cheese curds, jumbo turkey legs, chocolate cheesecake on a stick, bratwursts, corndogs, homemade potato chips, corn on the cob, barbeque ribs, Philly cheese steaks, corndogs, mini donuts, funnel cakes, ice cream, onion rings, etc. - basically any food that is bad for you is at Rochesterfest! Brandon had two brats and some chips and I decided to have corn on the cob and cheese curds (they are actually very good even though they sound terrible!). After walking around a bit and running into some medical students, we bought a funnel cake sundae. We both had never had a funnel cake before and thought that it was pretty good, but very fattening. There wasn't a whole lot to do except to eat food and get a picture signed by a munchkin that appeared in "The Wizard of Oz" and is now in his 80's. Quick fact: Out of the 100 munchkins that were in the movie, only 10 are still living today! And, Rochester had one at Rochesterfest signing photographs...pretty neato!

Since, it was a beautiful night and we felt like we should do something other than eat and sit on our behinds, we went and played tennis. It was so nice to be outside and to get some exercise. Brandon's serving is much more consistent now and pretty soon, I won't be able to return it any more! We played until we could no longer see the ball because it was too dark and also because we were both laughing so hard after Brandon fell on his face after serving and still won the point!
