Visitors

Last night, we had our friend from high school, Laurel, and her husband, Colin, stay with us. They just got married in July (on my birthday) and I was able to go to their wedding while we were home. They are moving out to Washington D.C. to be interns at a company called Sojourners. They left Eugene, OR a couple of weeks ago and have been camping for a week or so. They visited family in northern Minnesota before coming to Rochester. It was fun to have them here. The picture is of all of us after playing a close game of tennis. They won in a tie-breaker, 8-6. However, Colin is 6'10", so they did have a height advantage! You can tell in the picture how much taller he is than all of us. We first took a picture and Brandon tried standing behind me like Colin does, and we realized that we couldn't see Brandon in the picture! They left this morning to go to Iowa and will eventually make it to Washington D.C. It was fun to have them here and hope that we can see them again sometime!

On Monday night, Sujit (one of Brandon's classmates) invited us over for dinner. His girlfriend, Tracy, is visiting from California and they wanted to have us over. Tracy cooked an excellent chicken curry meal and it was fun to spend time with them both. Tracy visited a few times last year and we have a good time when she comes. After dinner, Brandon got a much needed haircut from Sujit. They were trying not to make a mess by wrapping Brandon in a plastic bag, but it didn't really help!
