Allison called me at 6:30 this evening and told me to turn the tv to the news channel. Turns out the 35W bridge collapsed into the Mississippi River at around 6pm. This part of the highway is very well traveled and I have been on that part of the highway a couple of times. In watching the news so far, they have said that it did not collapse due to a terrorist attack, but due to structural damage. The pictures and news footage are devastating... Please be praying for the people involved, their families and the rescue teams as they are still searching for people. We have watched reports on CNN. It is definitely tragic and the extent is not completely known at this time.
