Chicago - Part 2

Here are the rest of the pictures from our trip to Chicago. I have to admit that Thursday was one of the most romantic days Brandon and I have had in awhile...yes, Brandon can be romantic! After my conference finished in the early afternoon, we walked to Millennium Park and saw the huge reflective jelly bean. We then went ice skating while listening to Christmas music. I used to ice skate as a child but have not been since then. I thought it would come back easy to me so I was talking it up to Brandon ahead of time...bad idea! I could barely stand up at first and tried just not to fall. Brandon on the other hand was doing loops around me! He continues to amaze me at how talented he is with everything! After skating we walked back and had dinner at an Italian restaurant, Rosebud on Rush. It was a great dinner before heading to see Wicked at the Oriental Ford theater. The theater was old and so beautiful. The show was amazing and we both had a great time.

We had another great day on Friday. We went and saw the huge Macy's that took up an entire block and was 9-stories. It was decorated beautifully with Christmas decorations and a tree that was 3-stories tall located on the 7th floor. The tree is an annual tradition that started 100 years ago. They hoist up the tree through the center of the store. It is pretty amazing. Later on, we went to the free Lincoln Park zoo for their "Zoolights" production. It was fun to walk around after the normal zoo hours and see the animals. I was pretty cold but felt bad for the poor camels that were outside! Afterwards, we ate dinner at a local burger place before heading to a Chicago Bulls basketball game. The Bulls beat the Knicks and it was fun to be in the United Center.
